TETRA REGION 5 – CINCO DE MAYO RIDE

Ebenezer Park – Lake Sam Rayburn

May 1-3, 2020

Jasper, TX  75951

Cancelled

Things change fast during this health emergency!  Ebenezer Campground/recreation.gov is emailing refund notices. The Ebenezer campground is closed during the scheduled dates of this ride.

Although we were communicating with the park staff, they were not aware of pending closures.  We regrettably are cancelling this ride.

This beautiful park has 13 equestrian campsites with water, electric, 2 pens per site, and a dump station.  Facilities also include rest rooms and showers.

The park is adjacent to Angelina National Forest with over 26 miles of trails.  Terrain is soft and sandy, boots are not required.  Trails include hills, gullies and access to the Sam Rayburn lake beach and reservoir.

Make campsite reservations through recreation.gov which can be made up to six months in advance.  Current, negative Coggins required.

Pre-register for ride through TETRA website: www.tetratrails.org

Ride Fees:  $20 member, $25 non member, dinner, and children 18 years of age accompanied by a registered riding adult is no charge.  Payable to TETRA (covers insurance and main course for Saturday night meal). Pre-register so we can have an accurate count for meals.

Pot luck dinner is canceled. TETRA will provide meat for Saturday night potluck and paper goods.   Everyone is asked to bring side items to share.  Bring your own drinks.  All other meals are on your own. Please register at tetratrails.org to help us plan for this event.

Ebenezer Equestrian Park is perhaps the most beautiful horse camp in Texas.

`2Ride out Saturday at 9:00 am and again after lunch.  Dinner at 6:00 pm.

We will have a short ride on Sunday morning for those that are interested.

There is a very nice KOA Campground, with covered horse facilities, located 10-15 minutes from Ebenezer. You can opt to stay there and trailer over to Ebenezer for the ride and dinner. For those without LQ trailers, they offer several types of cabins that sleep 4-6 people.

Their info is as follows: Brookeland/Lake Sam Rayburn KOA
