Mineola Nature Preserve Trail Ride 


September 18-20, 2020


To comply with Covid-19 recommendations, we ask all attendees respect social distancing guidelines of 6 feet, frequently wash hands, and wear a mask when indoors or when distancing outdoors of 6 feet is not possible. Exception to masking at meals, 6 foot social distancing should be maintained. 

Come join us as we celebrate fall at the Mineola Nature Preserve, in Mineola Texas.

Trail Ride: Saturday, ride out out at 9:00am.  Return to camp for lunch at noon.  Ride out in the afternoon at 2:00PM, return to camp at 5:00PM. 


Sunday, ride out at 9:30 am return to camp at noon.  Depart camp by 2:00PM.


TETRA will provide meat for a Saturday evening meal.  Please bring side dishes for the pot luck meal.  All other meals are on your own.


FEES: The Riding Fee is $20.00 for members, $35 for non-members. Children 18 years of age and younger are no charge and must be accompanied by a paying mounted rider.  Day rider fee is $10/day. 


There are 14 RV sites available with electric, water, and sewer that are at $30.00 per night. Pens are $5.00/night per pen. Primitive camping is $5.00 a night.To reserve and pay for an RV site, ride fee and/or pens, please contact Steve Hancock at 1-972-877-2206 or email at buffalo305@aol.com

Daily ride fee for Mineola Nature Preserve is $5.00 daily paid on the honor system in their drop box. 


We have changed rider check in.  Preregistration on-line is preferred at tetratrails.org.  Pay online with Paypal, or checks by mail.  For onsite registration, cash is strongly discouraged, checks preferred.  

The Equestrian Pavilion (The Derby) has a kitchen area, restrooms with showers, and a horse wash station.

All riders must check, preregistered or on-site registration. Friday’s Check in will be after 2:00 pm, and Saturday’s Morning Check in starts at 7:30 am. All campers are to depart by Sunday at 2:00PM. 

Ride rules:  Current negative Coggins required, all dogs must be on leash and are not allowed on the trail, no riding doubles, horses who are prone to kick must have a red flag on their tail.  Trail boss makes all camp and ride decisions.  No smoking or drinking on the trail.  This is a family outing. Please join us.

Directions:   

From I-20, in Lindale, Texas: Turn North on U.S. 69, about 14 miles, cross the Sabine River and then continue approximately 1.5 miles, turn right (east) on Loop 564: For the Equestrian Trail Head: About one fourth mile, turn right on first road right before County Road 2724. Turn at the water treatment sign, follow signs to horse trailer parking.

U.S.69 from Greenville/Alba Texas and from U.S.Hwy37: Continue through Mineola; proceed south to Loop 564.  Go under the overpass to Loop 564. Approximately one fourth mile, turn right on first road before County Road 2724.  Turn at the water treatment plant sign, follow signs to horse trailer parking.

U.S. Hwy 80, traveling west from Hawkins, Texas: Go under the overpass for Loop 564, turn right (north) and follow signs to Loop 564.  Continue right (south) on Loop 564  first street past County Road County Road 2724.  Turn at the water treatment plant sign,  follow signs to horse trailer parking.

U.S.Hwy80, traveling east from Grand Saline, Texas: Continue through Mineola to the intersection of U.S. Hwy 69,turn right (south) on U.S. 69.  Proceed to Loop 564.  Go under the  overpass to Loop 564.  Approximately one fourth mile, turn right on first road before County Road 2724.  Turn at the water treatment plant sign, follow signs to horse trailer parking.
