Caddo National Grasslands Trail Ride

March 25-27, 2022

Where:  Caddo National Grasslands Bois D'Arc Trailhead campground

The dogwoods and redbuds should be in their prime. Join us for a great weekend of camping and riding.


The Bois D'Arc Trailhead campground is near the Bois D'Arc trailhead. For more information, go to caddotrailrider.com.


Friday evening: 5-6 "Meet and Greet" cookies and Lemonade with taco soup till gone.  

Saturday morning: ride out at 9:00am pack a lunch and eat on the trail.

Saturday 6:00: Potluck TETRA will supply paper goods and plastic ware.  Bingo after potluck.

Sunday morning:  ride out at 9:00am return to camp at noon.

TETRA ride is a suggested donation is $20 members, $35 non-members, children 18 years of age or younger are no charge, must be accompanied by a riding adult. 

Coggins needed for all horses, liability signature for all attendees, all park rules must be followed, trash removed, manure removed or broadcast, all dogs must be on leash, no dogs on the trails, horses prone to kick must be red tagged. 

The campground has 27 equestrian friendly spots with 5 double sites for $10/night. The pads are gravel and very level, the outside spots are pull through and inside are back ins.


Each campsite has a water faucet, picnic table and high line. There is no electric and there is no plan to put in electricity. There is plenty of room to put

up portable panels or electric fencing.  

Directions:


From Honey Grove: At the intersection of Hwy 82 and FM 100 go north on FM 100 to fm 409.  Turn left on FM 409.  Go 5.3 miles you will pass lakes Crockett and Coffee Mill, the first left will be Bois D'Arc Trailhead Day use area, the second left is the Bois D'Arc Trailhead Overnight area. 


FROM BONHAM: At the intersection of Hwy 82 and Hwy 78 go north 0.8 miles on Hwy 78. Turn right (east) on FM 273, go 6.2 miles and turn right (east) on FM 1396. Go 7.3 miles and left (north) on FM 2029 toward Telephone. Go 4 miles to FM 409 and turn right (east) . The trailhead is 2.5 miles on the right. Sign says Bois D' Arc Trailhead, Overnight Area. FROM HONEY GROVE At the intersection of Hwy 82 and FM 100 go north on FM 100 about 10 miles. Turn left (west) on FM 409. Go 5.3 miles, you will pass Lakes Crockett and Coffee Mill. The first left will be Bois D' Arc Trailhead Day Use Area, the second left is the Bois D' Arc Trailhead Overnight Area.


Day parking is walking distance to the adjoining camp where the pavilion and restrooms are located.
