PALO PINTO STATE PARK WORKDAY

July 13, 2013

1915 FM 2372, Strawn

With the combined effort of TETRA and NTTR (North Texas Range Riders), the new state park in Strawn, Texas is scheduling their work days in order to prepare the park for future trail rides. Bring ATVs, loppers, and chainsaws and clippers.    Due to the weather, the work day will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. The group will gather at the arena near the entrance to the park.    The trail clearing planned is to extend the three-fourths mile opened at last work day.  The immediate goal is to open a 3-mile loop.  Water is also critical. Bug spray and sunscreen also advised.  Chiggers abound!

If people need to come up on Friday evening, we will have a pot luck meal with lasagna provided. Please let someone know you are coming, particularly if you need to come up Friday evening.  All other meals are on your own.

Due to heat, we plan to try to be on the trail shortly after 8 a.m. and to work until 12 or 1 o'clock.

For more information, call Barbara McKnight at 254-595-2119  with TETRA     or     Ron Heflin at 817-614-8979 with NTRR.

Directions to Strawn - Strawn is on Highway 16, 4 miles north of I-20.  If you are on I-20, exit to the north at exit 361.  The park is 2 miles west on FM 2372.  Watch for a brick house and a State of Texas sign on the left.
