Trail Ride, Costume Contest, and Chili Cook-Off

Come join us as we celebrate fall at the Mineola Nature Preserve, in Mineola Texas.

Trail Ride: Please be ready to ride out of camp by 10.00. We will have a slow, medium speed, and/or a fast group of trail riders, or for your comfort you may break off into your own smaller group and ride. Maps will be available.

The City is currently making improvements to the trail that goes to the Sabine River’s canon launch.  When it is completed we will be able to get to the river all year round. They have created a picnic area at the river with a fire pit, which would be great spot for lunch.

Equine & K-9 Costume Contest will start around 4:00 pm. We will have a non-partial judge pick the winners, and the winners will be rewarded with a prize.

No meals will be provided by TETRA at this ride, however for those who arrive on Friday, we will have a cook out that night. If you wish to participate, bring something to cook on the grill, and a dish to share.

Chili Cook-Off will start at 5:30. If you wish to participate, please bring a pot of your favorite Chili in a slow cooker, enough for yourself and a few others (please no game meat). We are looking for the best chili in town. The chili with the most votes will be the winner. If you don’t want to participate in the chili cook-off, please bring items like cornbread, cheese, corn chips, and/or a dessert.

FEES: The Riding Fee is $5.00 per day per horse.

There are 14 RV sites with electric, water, and sewer that are at $20.00 per night.

Pens are $5.00 per night per pen. Primitive camping is $5.00 a night.

The Equestrian Pavilion (The Derby) has a kitchen area, restrooms with showers, and a horse wash station.

To reserve a RV site and/or pens, please contact Joe or Phyllis Petronella at 903-316-0250 or email them at avalonfarm@peoplescom.net

Friday’s Check in will be after 4:00 pm, and Saturday’s Morning Check in starts at 7:30 am.

You will need to bring your horse(s) current negative Coggins.
